#2 TET Assam District Wise Merit List:

Final Merit List for the Post of Assistant Teacher under SSA, Assam [VIDE ADVT. NO. SSA/TT/ENGAGEMENT OF ASSTT. TEACHER/472/2016/6210, DATED. 01.10.2016] has been published on the official website of SSA Assam.

Details of Online Application No., Name of the Candidate, TET /CTET Roll No, Name of Language-I of TET/CTET (Medium),  % of marks obtained in HSSLC, % of marks obtained in TET/ CTET, % of marks obtained in Professional Qualification.

Candidates will also get extra 10 marks for NCC “C” Certificate and 5 marks if “B” Certificate holder, 10 marks for participation in recognized sports at National Level representing Assam, 10 marks for achievement in Fine Arts and Cultural Activities representing the State officially at National Level.

Total marks obtained out of 330 are clearly displayed on the page.

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Assam prepares the merit list of selected candidates after the process of documents verification.

Conditions for APSC Exam Eligibility 2017

Nationality: To apply for the Public Service Commission, Assam you must be an Indian citizen.


Age Limit: 

The age limit of the candidates will be calculated on the basis of the Matriculation /HSLC Admit Card/Certificate issued by a recognized Board/Council, and no other document shall be accepted in lieu thereof for the purpose.

APSC age limit for general category is 21 years to 43 years. A candidate must not be less than 21 years and more than 43years of age as on 01.01.2016.

The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates i.e. up to 48 years.

There will also be a relaxation of upper age limit in respect of Persons with Disability by 5 years i.e. up to 48 years.

For Assam Police Service category, age limit will be counted as 38 years as on 01/01/2016 (43 years in case of SC/ST and PWD candidates).


Educational Qualification:

The candidate must hold a Degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess such qualification as may be declared equivalent by the Government.



APSC Exam Application Process: 

A candidate should not submit more than one application.

Download the APSC application form from here (this link) and send the duly filled application with the following documents.
  1. Original Treasury Receipt for payment of fees
  2. One copy of recent passport size photograph to be pasted on the space provided in the application form. Do not staple the photograph.
  3. Age- proof certificate (Admit Card / Certificate of HSLC or equivalent exam)
  4. Degree Pass Certificate
  5. Caste Certificate in respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MOBC community issued by competent authority.
  6. ID Card/Certificate in respect of PWD candidates issued by competent authority.
The envelope sending the application should be superscripted ‘Combined Competitive (Prel.) Examination,2016’ on the top of the envelope. The size of the form is approximately 21cm× 34 cm.

The applicant shall furnish photostat copies of the above-mentioned documents declared by the candidate himself/ herself as ‘Certified to be true copy of the original’ along with the application.

PWD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates are to inform the Commission in writing, for services of scribe, if required, within one month of the expiry of the closing date for submission of application. Applications not signed by the candidates will be summarily rejected.

Candidates whether in Govt. service or in the service of Govt. undertaking/ Banks/ Corporation/ Bodies/ private employment should forward his/her applications through his/her controlling officer/employer.


Last Date to Apply: Application for the Preliminary Examination duly filled will be received till 09.02.2017 only.


Examination Fees:

To appear in the APSC Combined Competitive (Prelim.) Examination, you have to pay a fee of Rs.300.00 (Rupees Three Hundred only).

For candidates belonging to S.C./S.T. community fee is Rs. 150.00 under the Head of Account viz., ‘NON-TAX REVENUE OTHER NON TAX REVENUE, 0051 PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION, 102 STATE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION, APPLICATION/EXAMINATION FEE RECEIPT OF ASSAM PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION’.

Only Treasury challan shall be accepted.

APSC Exam Pattern:

The Combined Competitive Examination consists of two successive stages:-
  1. The Preliminary Examination
  2. The Main Examination (written & interview)


Preliminary Examination:

This Examination is meant to serve as a screening test only. After clearing the Preliminary Examination, a candidate is qualified for admission to the Main Examination. Marks obtained in this exam will not be counted for determining the final order of merit.

The questions will be of objective type with multiple choices. OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) answer sheet will be provided for answering questions. Candidates will have to use ONLY BLACK BALL PEN.

USE OF ERASER, CHEMICAL, CORRECTION FLUID etc. in the OMR answer sheet is prohibited and answer sheets bearing traces of such use shall not be evaluated.

The Preliminary Examination will consist of two papers of objective type multiple choice questions of two hours duration each.

Syllabus of APSC Preliminary Exam:

#1 Syllabus of APSC CC Preliminary Paper I (General Studies):

APSC has published the syllabus for the Paper I in their website apsc.nic.in. This paper tests the General knowledge of a candidate. To pass in this paper you should have knowledge about the current happenings all over the world including India and Specially in Assam.

#2 Syllabus of APSC CC Preliminary Paper II (Optional Subjects):

Second Paper of APSC Preliminary Exam is a multiple choice objective question paper. There are total 28 Subjects and you have to choose only one. You will get 02 hours to solve the paper of optional subjects for 200 marks.

Each subject has a different syllabus and you have to study thoroughly the subject of your choice.

These syllabuses are of Degree level courses of the Universities of the State of Assam.

Agriculture, its importance in national economy factors determining agroecological zone and geography distribution of crop plants. Important crops of India, cultural practices for cereal pulses, oilseed, fibre, sugar and tuber crops and the scientific basis for these crop rotation, multiple and relay cropping intercropping and mixed cropping. Main Examination:

After successfully passed in the Preliminary Examination, a candidate has to apply for the main examination in the prescribed application form.

Those candidates selected to appear in the Main Examination will have to pay another Examination fee to be fixed in due course, separately by Treasury challan under the same head of Account specifying the fee as C.C. (Main) Examination Fee, 2016.


Process of APSC Main Examination:

On the results of the Preliminary Examination, the number of candidates to be admitted to the written part of the Main Examination will be 11 to 12 times the number of vacancies notified. The selection will be strictly on the basis of merit adhering to the norms of Vertical and Horizontal Reservation as per prescribed law in force.

The Main Examination consists of-
  1. Written Examination and 
  2. Interview Test.

The questions of the examination will be of conventional type.

Process of Viva-Voice Interview: 


Total Marks- 200

On the results of the written part of the Main Examination, the number of candidates to be called for interview will be about twice the number of vacancies advertised.

The selection will be strictly on the basis of merit adhering to the norms of Vertical and Horizontal Reservation as per prescribed law in force.

The candidates will be interviewed by a board. The interview, however, will not have any qualifying marks.

The marks scored at the interview will be added to the marks scored in the written Examination (Main) and the ranking of the candidates will be determined on the basis of the total marks obtained.



Admission certificates (ADMIT CARD)

Commission takes up the verification of eligibility conditions only after the candidates have qualified for the Main Examination.
Admission certificate indicating the eligible candidate’s Roll no., venue and program of the exam will be uploaded in the Commission’s website, for appearing in the Preliminary/Main examination.
Candidates must produce a photo identity proof of any of the following in the examination hall:

Date of Preliminary Exam:

Latest updates regarding the current status of the tentative schedule will be published on the website of the Assam Public Service Commission from time to time as and when its website becomes operational. The schedule will be available at www.apsc.nic.in w.e.f. 05.01.2017.

Tentative Schedule is proposed assuming that proper requisition will be received for the concerned posts in stipulated time from the Government.

There may be some more Examinations/Viva-voce during the year, hence, the schedule may change.

Further, the schedule may also change when an opinion from the Government/Legal Expert is received regarding declaration of pending results of some interviews already held.

Date of Preliminary and Main Examination will be notified in due course. However, Examination has been tentatively scheduled in the month of May 2017.

The centers and the date (even after it is notified) for holding examination may, however be changed by the Commission at its discretion.

Candidates admitted to the examination will be informed of the time place or places of examination.

Preparation Methods for APSC 2017:

Less than 10% candidates qualifies in the APSC Exam. So, it is cleare that the level of the exam is to high to achieve.

Selection Procedure:

Eligibility Criteria for Assam Police: 





In order to appear in the Recruitment Tests, you must fulfill the following criteria :-


#1 Nationality - 

Candidates must be Indian citizens, ordinarily resident of Assam. 


#2 Age: 

For Constable: 18 to 25 years as on 1st July of 2015 (i.e. the candidate must be born on or before 01.07.1997 and after 01.07.1990). Relaxed 3 years in respect of trained Home Guards who have served for a period of 3(three) years or more. (Certificate to this effect from competent authority will have to be submitted). 

For SI: Candidate should not be more than 24 years and less than 20 years of age as on 1st July, 2015.

The date of birth accepted by the SLPRB will be as per matriculation or an equivalent examination certificate issued by a recognized Board. No other document relating to age such as horoscope, affidavit, birth extract from Municipal Corporation, service record etc. will be accepted. Relaxation : Upper age limit will be relaxed by 5 years in respect of candidates belonging to SC, ST(P) and ST(H) 



#3 Educational qualification: 

For Constable: H.S. or Class XII passed from a recognized Board or Council. In case of candidates applying for the post of Firemen and Emergency Rescuer in Fire & Emergency Services, he / she should have passed H.S. or Class XII in Science Stream. 

However, the candidates applying for the posts of Constable of Police (WO/WT) in APRO, he / she should have passed H.S. or Class XII in Science Stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the combined subjects from a recognized Board or Council.

For SI: The candidate must be a graduate in Arts, Science, Commerce or equivalent stream from a recognized College / Institutions affiliated to a recognized University.

#5 Medical standards (for SI rank) : 
  1. Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision. 
  2. Colour blindness will be a disqualification. 
  3. Varicose veins shall be considered a temporary disqualification. 
  4. They must be in good mental and bodily health. 
  5. They must be free from any physical deformities and free from diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, hernia, piles, heart diseases, respiratory diseases or any other ailment that is likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties. 
  6. Eye sight – the distant vision should be 6/6 for at least one eye and not poorer than 6/9 for the other without correction. Near vision should be normal.




How To Apply: 





To apply for the recruitment in Assam Police, you should apply for the posts before the last date.
Applications must be submitted online through Assam Police website www.assampolice.gov.in . There is no option for other forms of application.

Go to the official website and register your name with your email address and mobile phone number. These should be specific to each candidate.

No documents, testimonials/caste certificate etc are to be submitted with the application form.

Be careful. Before submitting the application form, double check it. After clicking on the "complete" button, you can not change the application form.

After successful submission of the form, you can download the registration / application slip with ID No.

It is mandatory for the candidates to mention a valid email address and individual mobile phone number in the application form as the same will be required to inform the applicant regarding the status of their application and convey other related information.

Candidates will be able to download the Admit Card / Call Letter from the Assam Police website by entering their ID number.

The information will also be sent through SMS and email to the candidates on their mobile numbers and email addresses. 



Important:Keep ready the following documents before online application. You will have to upload scanned copies of the following documents: 


#1 Passport Size Photograph :

Please pay attention to upload good quality photograph. Poor quality of photograph submitted will lead to rejection of your application.

The admit card will be printed with the photograph you submit.
  1. The photograph must be in colour and must be taken in a professional studio. Photograph taken using a mobile phone and other self composed portraits are not acceptable. 
  2. Photograph must be taken in a white background. 
  3. The photograph must have been taken after 1st July, 2015. 
  4. Face should occupy about 50% of the area in the photograph, and with a full face view looking into the camera directly. 
  5. The main features of the face must not be covered by hair of the head, any cloth or any shadow. Forehead, both eyes, nose, cheek, lip and chin should be clearly visible.
  6. If you normally wear spectacles, glare on glasses is not acceptable in your photo. Glare can be avoided with a slight downward tilt of the glasses for the photo shoot. 
  7. You must not wear spectacles with dark or tinted glasses, only clear glasses are permitted. 
  8. Ask your photo studio to provide the image in a JPEG format and also on a standard 4.5cm x 3.5 cm ( 45mm x 35mm ) print.
  9. Maximum pixel resolution for JPEG: 640 x 480 (0.3 Mega Pixel) (Ask your studio to reduce it to this resolution if it is higher). 
  10. Minimum pixel resolution for JPEG: 320 x 240. 
  11. The maximum file size is 450 kb (kilo bytes). 
  12. For your own benefit it may be prudent not to intentionally change your facial features or hair style as in the photograph until the day of the exam.



#2 Thumb Impression :
  1. The candidate will have to take his / her left thumb impression on a white piece of paper, neatly, without any smudges and scan a copy and upload it in the slot provided. 
  2. Dimension of thumb impression image should be 3.5cm (width) x 1.5cm (height) only. 
  3. Candidates should make sure their uploaded thumb impression are clear. 100 kb is the maximum size. 



#3 Signature:
  1. Please put your signature with a black or dark blue ink on a white paper. 
  2. Get the signature digitally photograph / image scanned by a professional photo studio, and get the image cropped by the studio itself.
  3. Only JPEG image formats will be accepted. 
  4. The maximum pixel resolution for the image is 800 x 300. 
  5. The minimum pixel resolution for the image is 400 x 150. Page 5 of 11 
  6. Dimension of signature image should be 3.5cm (width) x 2.5cm (height). 
  7. The maximum file size is 100 kb. 
  8. Mobile phone photograph of signature is not acceptable, and can result in disqualification of the application. 


Testimonials/ Documents to be submitted when appearing in Tests: 

The candidates should bring a set of self attested photocopies along with the originals of the following documents/ materials for verification by the Selection Committee on the date of their Test. 
  1. Certificate of proof of age. (HSLC or equivalent certificates) 
  2. Certificate of HSLC or equivalent examination 
  3. Mark-sheet of HSLC or equivalent examination 
  4. Certificate of Higher Secondary or equivalent examination
  5. Mark –Sheet of Higher Secondary or equivalent examination 
  6. Certificate of additional qualifications such as Diploma from ITI or other recognized / accredited institute etc (if any). 
  7. Certificate of sports, games etc. (if any). 
  8. Experience certificate of serving in Home Guards and certificate of NCC (if any) from competent authority. 
  9. Certificate of caste from the competent authority in respect of the candidates belonging to ST(P)/ST(H)/SC/OBC & MOBC. 
  10. 2 (two) copies of passport size recent photographs. 
  11. Certificate of knowledge in swimming / driving. 


Selection Procedure: 

Candidates whose applications are found correct in all respect will have to undergo the Physical Standards Tests (PST) and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET).

If any candidate is found to have any physical deformity as may be detected by the Medical Officer present in the Selection Board, he/ she will be debarred from participating in the other tests.



#1 Scrutinity of Documents: 

All the original documents along with a set of Photostat copies of the documents will be checked before the qualified candidate is allowed to appear in the PST and PET as per the given eligibility criteria.

Candidates who are rejected will be given rejection slips specifying the reason of rejection.

Submission of any incorrect information or forged document at any stage will lead to disqualification of the candidate and may also render him / her liable to criminal prosecution.

Original documents of a candidate may be put to check at any later stage of the recruitment process also. All the photostat copies submitted by the candidates will have to be duly self attested.




#2 Physical Standard Test:

 After the documents are found correct, the candidates will have to appear in the PST (Physical Standard Test). It will carry no marks.

Measurement of the height, weight & chest (only males) of the candidates will be done and after which the candidate will be inspected by a Medical Officer for preliminary check-ups like knock knee, vision test, colour blindness test, flat foot, varicose vein, physical deformities etc.

Once a candidate clears the PST he/she will have to appear in the PET (Physical Efficiency Test)




#3 Physical Efficiency Test: - 40 Marks :

Candidates who clear PST, will be required to undergo PET. There are various Award of marks for for PET for excellency.

The PET consists of the following :


Male Candidates

a) Race: Those who qualify in the PST will be subjected to 3.2 km race to be completed within 14 minutes (840 seconds for constable and 900 seconds for SI).

b) Long Jump: Minimum 335 cm for long jump (3 chances to be given and the longest valid jump rounded off to the nearest cm will be considered for awarding marks).



Female Candidates.

a) Race: Those who qualify in the PST will be subjected to 1600 mtrs. race to be completed within 8 minutes .

b) Long Jump: Minimum 244 cm for long jump (3 chances to be given and the longest valid jump rounded off to the nearest cm will be considered for awarding marks).



#4 Written Test:

After completion of the PST and PET for all the candidates, District-wise merit lists for each category will be prepared. (for SI rank PET will be followed by Written Test).

Candidates will be called for the Written Test in order of merit at the rate of 5 (five) times the number of posts allotted in respect of each category.

If the total number of qualifying candidates turns out to be less than 5 times the number of posts, all qualifying candidates but no other will be called for the Written Test.

If there are candidates scoring the same marks in PET as the last candidate selected for the written test by the 5 times formula in a particular case, the candidates scoring the same marks will also be called for the written examination, and therefore the number may exceed the 5 times to that extent for that particular case and category only. 

Written Test will be conducted throughout the State on one day at each district HQ.

The date of the written test will be notified later.

For Constable: Written test will consist of 100 multiple choice type questions to be answered on an OMR answer sheet.

For each correct answer the candidate will get half a mark.

Questions will be of the level of class IX and X. Total marks for the Written Test will be 50.

There will be no negative marking.



For SI: The written test will be of 100 marks and will be completely OMR based.

There will be 100 questions and each question will be of 1 (one) mark.

There will be negative marking of ½ mark for each wrong answer. The questions will be set in three parts

(i) Logical reasoning, aptitude, comprehension 
(ii) Matters relating to History and Culture of Assam and India and 
(iii) General Knowledge. Candidates will use black ball pen to answer the OMR based answer sheet. Duration of the test will be of 3 (three) hours 




#5 Extra-curricular activities and special skills:

(A) Extra Academic Achievements- based on results of Higher Secondary Examination (for Constable):

Max marks 5
  1. 40 – 59.99 % : 2 marks 
  2. 60 – 74.99% : 3 marks 
  3. 75 % and above : 5 marks 

Extra Academic Achievements (for SI) :-

Max 5 marks.
  1. 2nd Div / more than 50% marks in BA / BSc / BCom / or equivalent in aggregate. - 01 (one) mark 
  2. 1st Div / more than 60% marks in BA / BSc / BCom / or equivalent in aggregate. - 02 (two) marks 
  3. Additional Degrees – MA / MSc / MCom / LLB / LLM / BTech / Degree in Engineering / MBBS / BDS - 03 (three) marks 


(B) NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC) - Max Marks – 03 (three)

  1. NCC „C‟ Certificate - 03 (three) marks 
  2. NCC „B‟ Certificate - 02 (two) marks 
  3. NCC „A‟ Certificate - 01 (one) marks 

(c) HOME GUARDS - Max Marks – 03 (three)

  1. Home Guards who have completed advanced training and are deployed as armed Home Guard for a period of 4 (four) years or more. - 03 (three) marks 
  2. Home Guards who have completed the advanced training and are deployed as armed Home Guard for a period more than one year but less than 4 years. - 02 (two) marks
  3. Home Guards who have completed basic course with refresher training and on duty as Home Guard for a period of 4 (four) years or more. - 02 (two) marks 
  4. Home Guards who have completed the basic training and deployed as home guard continuously for a period of more than 1 (one) year but less than 4 (four) years. - 01 (one) marks 



(D) SPORTS - Max Marks – 03 (three)

  1. Represented India in International events recognized by the International Olympic Association in any discipline and received medals. - 03 (three) marks 
  2. Represented India in International events recognized by the International Olympic Association in any discipline. - 03 (three) marks 
  3. National level Sports person who represented the State in any discipline recognized by the Indian Olympic Association and received medals. - 02 (two) marks 
  4. National level Sports person who represented the State in any discipline recognized by the Indian Olympic Association. - 02 (two) marks 
  5. State level Sports person who represented District in State Level Competition and won medals. - 01 (one) marks

(E) PROFICIENCY IN COMPUTERS -Max Marks – 05 (five)

  2. Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) - 04 (four) marks

Preparation of Final Merit List:

District-wise select lists against the respective allocated vacancies will be prepared for each category (UR/SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/OBC/MOBC) for both men and Women, based on the total marks obtained by the candidates. The select lists will be published in the Assam Police website and through other available media. 

Final results would be based on the marks obtained as follows:
  1. Marks awarded in PET - Maximum marks 40. 
  2. Multiple choice objective type Written Test: Maximum marks 50. 
  3. Extra-curricular activities and special skills: Maximum marks 10. Total 100 marks.
